    Thirty-Eight Students Study Abroad During Spring Break

    Thirty-eight students are traveling abroad during Augustana’s spring break March 12-21. There are four separate courses being offered in Guatemala, Greece, France, and Scotland. Currently, about half of Augustana students have been abroad by the time they graduate.

    Dr. Arthur Huseboe Served as Director of CWS for 20 Years

    Dr. Arthur Huseboe, 78, executive director of the Center for Western Studies at Augustana for 20 years, died Saturday, March 13, at his home in Sioux Falls following a long bout with cancer. A memorial service will held Saturday, March 20, at First Lutheran Church.

    Augustana Musicians Chosen for SD Inter-Collegiate Band

    Seventeen members of the Augustana Band have been chosen to perform in the 2010 South Dakota Inter-Collegiate Band, joining students from eight other South Dakota universities and colleges to perform at the 2010 South Dakota High School All-State Band Convention.

    The Augustana/Sanford Sports 'Fighting Hunger and Feeding Hope' youth basketball tournament is March 19-21 at the Elmen Center. Fifty percent of the admission fee benefits the local Food Pantry as well as the overseas organization World Vision.

    The images of Sioux Falls water color artist Marian Henjum will be on display in the Madsen/Nelson/Elmen Galleries of the Center for Western Studies’ Fantle Building through May 29, 2010. Also on display is an exhibition of blown glass by artist Jon Offutt from Fargo, N.D.
